What to Expect

Depending on your previous experiences with counseling, you might find my approach a bit unconventional at times. See, my core values are all about breaking down oppressive systems and practices. That's why I rarely dish out "tools and strategies" unless you specifically ask for them.

When we start our journey together, get ready for some deep dives. I'll be asking you all sorts of questions about where you're at in life, your values, and your unique experiences shaped by your identity—like race, gender, sexuality, and disabilities. Understanding your world helps me figure out how to support your growth in a way that's all about you.

I've had clients share with me that they sometimes feel uneasy and vulnerable when we begin exploring emotions and truths they may have kept hidden. And you know what? That's completely normal. In fact, it's an essential part of the healing journey. Healing often involves normalizing and becoming 'comfortable with discomfort'. Regardless of your level of distress tolerance, my role is to gently encourage you while respecting your current position and pace.
